Rachel is a California native who began her academic journey in psychology and community studies at the
University of California, Santa Cruz. Discovering her passion for medicine, she relocated to Florida in 2005,
completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida. She then pursued graduate studies at
the University of South Florida, graduating in 2015.
Rachel started her career at Orlando Health, caring for cardiac and vascular patients. She later worked at the
former Venice Regional Medical Center, focusing on acute cardiac care in an inpatient setting. Throughout her
career in outpatient care, Rachel has gained extensive experience in women’s health, internal medicine,
dermatology, geriatric care, and has a special interest in autoimmune disorders. With 17 years of medical
experience, she has now co-founded Live Well DPC with her partner, Julie.
Rachel’s two children and her husband reside in Venice, Florida, where she is actively involved in the
community and her church. She has established strong relationships with many healthcare providers in the
Venice and Sarasota areas, making her a valuable advocate for her patients. Together with her partner, Julie,
Rachel is committed to providing personalized and accessible primary care, free from the constraints of time
and insurance.
Julie is a Florida native, born in Jacksonville. After the birth of her daughter, she and her husband moved to
Sarasota to raise their family. Julie loves being a wife and mother, enjoys outdoor activities, and cherishes her
monthly book club gatherings of over 13 years. “I love the insight reading gives me into different cultures and
ideas, which reminds me in some ways of why I love medicine. Like books, patients expose me to diverse
perspectives and insights which help make me a better provider. We should never stop learning from each other
and being curious about what is different.”
Julie has worked in various settings, making her uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive primary care. She
completed her undergraduate degree at Florida State University and her graduate degree at the University of
South Florida. Her career began at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville in 2001, where she worked in transplant medicine,
caring for heart and lung transplant patients and then transitioned to liver transplant care. In 2007, she moved
with her family to Sarasota. Her clinical experience in Sarasota includes concierge medicine, internal medicine,
dermatology, home health, hospice, and clinical leadership. These roles, combined with her firm establishment
in the Sarasota community, have enabled her to form valuable relationships in the medical community, greatly
benefiting her patients and enhancing her ability to advocate for her patients.
Julie co-founded Live Well DPC with her partner Rachel to continue her passion for primary care. They aim to
provide comprehensive, individualized care accessible to patients without the constraints of insurance and time.
“Taking care of your health shouldn’t be difficult, intimidating, expensive, or inaccessible. I look forward to
developing long-lasting relationships with our patients, with trust being the foundation.
